Interview with Nick Zammuto from The Books (2010)

" It's an interview I recorded at home for Michael Englebrecht, from some questions that he emailed to me. This was from right around the time when 'The Way Out' was released, in July 2010. It's unedited and recorded late at night, so i'm a bit spaced out... but i know unedited audio interviews are hard to find, so here it is. Autechre in the studio (2004)

I've been interested in how autechre produces their music for some time and went poking around the internet for articles on their process. Found this reasonably detailed article from Sound On Sound that goes back to 2004. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr04/articles/autechre.htm Very curious about their use of MAX/MSP but I love the quote " The worst things are the timeline sequencers where you can see on the screen what's coming up. That really f**ks with your head when you're listening." It makes me want to get off the computer to start playing with hardware.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Welcome to the first post of my new blog "Guided in Sound". I've been itching to make a blog focused purely on sound and music production.
